Adam Campbell spent the first 17 years of his life on the beaches of Nigeria where he developed his love of the outdoors. He now calls the Canadian Rockies home where he is an environmental & business lawyer. He is also a co-owner of Canada’s largest trail running series. He has competed in, and regularly placed on the podium at, some of the world's most challenging and competitive mountain running races and trail ultramarathons. We met Adam in 2014 at the finish of Hardrock 100 where he finished 3rd despite he and Aaron Heidt being struck by lightning on Handees peak. Our podcast with Adam after his finish. Our video with Adam. On August 30th, 2016, Adam experienced a near fatal accident while attempting the Horseshoe traverse through Roger’s Pass in BC, with runners Nick Elson and Dakota Jones. Adam talks about his experience, lessons learned and his new reality of being a trail runner. On May 9th, a movie about Adam's experience will be available to download at Arc'teryx. THE Ultra Running Girl, Stephanie Case, joins The Nation from Afghanistan a few short days after experiencing the jaws of the 2018 running of the Barkley Marathons. Stephanie has not only run many of the world's toughest trail ultras, but has extended her comfort zone by living in some very dangerous places in the world as a United Nations Human Rights Lawyer. Stephanie shares her experiences at Barkley, her three finishes at Tour de Geants, UTMB and others.
